Jun Fan Martial
Arts.
Within the Jun Fan curriculum there are five ways of attack, which are:
-
- S.D.A – Single Direct
Attack.
- A.B.C - Attack By
Combination.
- H. I. A – Hand Immobilization
Attack
- A.B.D – Attack By
Drawing.
- P.I.A - Progressive Indirect
Attack.
The following is an example of combining the ways of attack from the
entry to tying up the arms and following up with the finishing tools.

Greg Hall wants to close the gap on John Casey but
is out of range. So he
really leans in and feints a finger jab to gain John’s attention
Then with slide and step footwork Greg bridges the
gap with the low Roundkick to the groin.

Then tries to follow up with a finger jab on
the half beat to john’s eyes. Which john blocks. This is The P.I.A.
section of the drill.
While keeping the forward pressure on Greg
traps the lead hand down and throws a punch which John blocks centreline |

To facilitate the trap Greg uses a
circling hand followed by a jerking hand and a simultaneous knife hand to the
throat. This is the H.I.A section of the drill
Greg follows up by holding the back of
johns’ head and dropping back and pulling johns head onto a head
butt.

Let go with one hand and finish with an
elbow strike. This is the A.B.C section of the
drill.
This is just one example of a Jun fan combination with a little
imagination and creativity the possibilities are endless.
